It’s Official!

August 4th, 2008

Our tour of Egypt has met it’s minimum numbers and it’s officially a go. Well, at least according to Catherine, the lady I talked to from the UK that looked into it for me. Our travel guy from Toronto has yet to tell us himself. But so far there are 8 people so that’s a great size. I was hoping for at least more than 6! Only 53 more days, and all we have left to buy are some shirts for me that cover my elbows, and hiking boots. Woo!

Here is a post just for you. What do you want to see?

Egypt: coming up if the trip is confirmed. If it isn’t we switch to another trip that only has 2 days difference. Those 2 days are sitting on a beach rather than walking through a desert so I’m not going to cry if we have to switch trips.

Green Bay: going to the home opener on September 8th. It’s going to be amazing, even if they don’t have Favre. The atmosphere will be great. It’s Monday Night Football and ESPN is supposed to be all over the place because they are retiring Favre’s jersey.

House: fixed the roof over the bedroom in May, got the gardens finished - they look great, our grass is growing back in the front, finally got a sprinkler, new garage coming soon - stay tuned

Dogs: both healthy, doc’s appt on Monday

Us: Good

Wedding: rolling along, costing $$ already

Harry Potter: missed

Smart Car: doing great. 70mpg. Can’t beat a $28 tank that lasts 3 weeks. Just hit the $500 mark for fuel since we bought the car in May 2007.

Work: I love the GHC. Vacation coming up August 5-12.

There you have it.

It’s semi-official!

March 22nd, 2008

We’ve booked the flights to Egypt! On Monday I’ll be calling to reserve 2 spots on our tour, and I’ll pay the deposit. We’ll find out by about August 27 if the tour is going ahead, but I’ve been assured by a few of the company tour leaders that Egypt tours are rarely cancelled, and the time we’re going is a popular time.

Things are moving along nicely - now we just have to get prepared. We have to find compact sleeping bags, hiking boots, and lots of mini hand sanitizers. Curt needs a bigger camera bag, I need a camera. Lots to do so it’s good that we have a long time to get ready.

I’m posting from my iPod touch just to see if it will work. I’m hoping to post this way when we’re out of the country.

Yay for Fozzie!

March 7th, 2008

Fozzie just had his 2nd blood test to check on his liver - and he’s cured! All of his results were better than last time, so we can keep him off his pills and his prescription food. He even lost a pound :) I think we’ll save about $240 a year on food (at least), and about $420 a year on pills. I’m so glad we decided to get a second opinion. Next up: Domino and his peeing problems….eesh.
